After graduating from Moon Valley High School in Phoenix, Patty attended Arizona State University where she worked full-time while getting a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business – Finance.
Immediately after graduating, Patty was hired by Smith Barney/CitiGroup and spent almost a decade as a Financial Consultant. Her areas of focus were:
Corporate – Retirement Plans, Implementation, Training and Management
Partnership Clients- Apollo Group/ University of Phoenix
Non-Profit – Retirement Plans, Investment Policy Statement- Development and Specialized Asset Allocation
Partnership Clients- Verde Valley Treatment Center, Phoenix Shanti Group
Individual – Financial Planning and Asset Allocation including Municipal Bond Portfolios
Experience with new issue and secondary municipal bonds
(school districts etc. and rating agency’s)
Licenses held (not active) – Series 7, 65 and 63
While at Smith Barney, Patty also enjoyed time as an instructor at Scottsdale Community College teaching evening non-credit finance classes titled “Women in Transition”.
These classes were for women that were interested in understanding the financial markets as it related to different phases of their lives. Subjects included but were not limited to: pension planning, insurance, IRA/ 401K, estate planning, and philanthropic giving
Patty left Smith Barney/CitiGroup, after getting married and starting a family, and began private consulting – focusing on the “startup business” and developing strategy as well as potential P&L forecast.
In 2012, Patty began working at a small private manufacturing company where she is currently CFO. She is proud to have successfully transitioned them from an R&D company that imported and sold products to one that is growing quickly and manufacturing its own product line.
Areas of expertise include: strategy, financial statement review, procurement, and all financial forecasting
She also helped oversee the 2015 remodel/buildout of the 35,000 sq. ft. new manufacturing facility in Scottsdale Airpark.
Patty, her husband Shawn, and 13-year-old twins Ashlyn and Avery, have enjoyed living in Paradise Valley for over 16 years. They are members of Blessed Sacrament Church. Patty is an avid runner and spends her free time volunteering in the community and at Mohave Middle School where she is currently serving as PTO Co-President.
Patty’s family has a long & proud Arizona history.
Her mother attended Hohokam Elementary School in 1963 and was in the first 8th grade graduating class.
Her parents met while working at The Original Cine Capri Movie Theatre. Patty’s father was the first theatre manager in 1966. The grand opening included the Scottsdale High School Marching Band. He later became The Executive Vice-President of Harkins Theatres and spent 20 years working with the company to build and create The Harkins Theatres we know today.
Her family members were part of many Phoenix and Scottsdale’s most iconic and memorable establishments. Historic and beloved places such as Lulu Belles, The Pink Pony and one of her favorites El Charro restaurant in Paradise Valley, where her grandmother worked for over 20 years.
